Close to the technology
I stay close enough to the technology to understand the real challenges, while giving people the context and autonomy they need to solve them well.
Most recently Head of Engineering at Aris Machina, building AI for manufacturing. Sixteen years across payments, music, mobility, health, energy and AI. Now open to Head of Engineering and CTO roles in Stockholm.
Mark the ones you recognise. I’ve worked on every one of them.
I’m Uwe Dauernheim, a software engineer, engineering leader, and lifelong builder based in Stockholm.
Over the years, I’ve moved from backend engineering and software architecture into leading technical teams and organizations at companies including Voi, Grace Health, Northvolt, and Aris Machina. My work has taken me through urban mobility, women’s health, sustainable energy, advanced manufacturing, data, and AI.
What connects those experiences is a desire to make difficult things useful: turning technical complexity into dependable products, helping talented people do their best work, and building organizations that can grow without losing clarity or humanity.
I’m taking time to train, travel, research emerging developments in AI, and think carefully about the next chapter of my career.
I’m particularly interested in engineering leadership where software and AI meet consequential, real world problems: AI native products, physical systems, advanced industry, health, sustainability, or sport.
I stay close enough to the technology to understand the real challenges, while giving people the context and autonomy they need to solve them well.
My role is to ask good questions, create clarity, share knowledge, and help teams make thoughtful decisions, even when the path ahead is uncertain.
The best products emerge when engineering, product, design, and business work together around a problem that genuinely matters.
Curious by nature. Driven by people. Grounded in purpose.
I’m naturally curious and tend to follow questions further than most, whether they concern artificial intelligence, science, business, leadership, or how technology can interact more meaningfully with the physical world.
Outside work, I’m a father, partner, endurance athlete, and enthusiastic traveller. Training has taught me many of the same lessons I value professionally: consistency matters more than intensity, progress compounds quietly, and ambitious goals become possible when approached with patience.

Engineering leadership where software and AI meet consequential, real world problems: AI native products, physical systems, advanced industry, health, sustainability, or sport. Typically Head of Engineering, CTO, or senior engineering management.
Yes. My last role, Head of Engineering at Aris Machina, ended in 2026. I’m using the time to train, travel and research AI while I choose the next chapter, and I’m open to conversations now.
Stockholm. On site, hybrid, or remote all work for me.
I translate between business, product, people and technology. I share roadmaps, priorities and trade-offs together with the reasons behind them, and I keep engineering, product, design and business working on the same problem.
Backend engineering and software architecture. Distributed payment systems in Erlang at Klarna, search and charts at Spotify, payment platforms at Betalo and P.F.C., then data and AI platforms at Northvolt and Aris Machina.

Open to engineering leadership roles in Stockholm, hybrid or remote.
